The Power of Good Neighbor Pharmacy
Leveraging Technology to Encourage Consistent Prescription Refills
The coronavirus has kept many of your patients at home, but that doesn’t mean they’re disconnected from your pharmacy. In fact, changes in our daily routines, advancements in technology and economic shifts resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic have triggered more time spent on mobile devices. This creates even bigger opportunities to keep your community engaged digitally. And one of the best ways to do that is by becoming a fixture on your patients’ home screens with a convenient and consistently useful mobile app.
Today’s consumer spends an average of 3.1 hours per day on apps.1 Globally, 200 billion hours were spent on apps in April 2020, and time spent in apps grew 40% year over year from April-June.2
The My GNP mobile app has also seen tremendous growth in 2020. As part of our comprehensive digital marketing program, including powerful social media support, refills through our app have increased 116% year over year. While patients continue to stay home, it’s clear they’re looking for different ways to manage their family’s health safely. Having an app that enables quick, easy refills is essential to making sure your patients keep taking their medications as prescribed through these difficult times.
To capitalize on the increase in app usage we’ve seen this year, we redesigned the My GNP mobile app to make it more streamlined and easier to navigate. Patients can now manage their medications seamlessly and submit refills in minutes—all from the comfort of their couch. Features like medication reminders, refill reminders and Med Buddy help keep patients adherent with their prescriptions. And with our push-to-queue feature, eligible pharmacy management systems can receive refills straight to their refills queue.
We also redesigned and expanded our collection of print and digital marketing materials to help you promote the My GNP mobile app to your patients. You’ll find everything from social media graphics to posters to bag stuffers in the “Mobile App” libraries on SOCi and Brand Central Station.
